Splash 2012 Freebie

Wow!!!  Heather and I presented at Splash on Thursday. We were the LAST presentation on the LAST day.  So, we were VERY surprised to see a room full of people.  After a little technical delay (YIKES!), the technical guy fixed the cable, we did our first presentation together.  Our presentation was titled "Celebrate Smartbaord Technology".  We shared LOTS of ideas on combining music, youtube videos, photos and clipart with a Smartboard to make lessons more exciting.  We have posted pictures of the presentation's slides on TPT for free to use as a resource.  Remember, we have also posted a 51 page "Birthday Unit" on TPT...it's just a little thank you to everyone who came to our presentation and those of you who follow us!!!

Countdown!!

Well, I'm back from vacation and I've been busy working on a set of "Countdown" sheets.  In my class, we countdown the days to important school events.  I begin the countdown about two weeks before the event.  Each day the leader writes number in descending order as the event approaches.  Every sheet has an original, easy to recite rhyme.  We also sing countdown songs by Dr. Jean and Jack Hartmann.  I have put the countdown sheets on TPT for $3.00. The packet includes sheets for the following days: field trips, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's, Spring Break, Easter, awards (for Pre-K, Kinder and first grade), field day and summer.

Back to School shirt

I did a little "back to school" shopping for myself.  I always get a kindergarten shirt for the beginning of the school year.  So, I am so lucky that my longtime best friend, Deb, owns the cutest t-shirt shop in town.  I designed it with my favorite things that remind me of kindergarten and she made it for me!  I LOVE IT!!! I'll wear it to the Frog Street Press conference in Houston.  Look for me:)

Classroom Freebies!!

I have been obsessing a little (ok...a lot) about how I want to re-arrange and re-do my classroom for next year!  I love this picture from Pinterest and REALLY wanted to do this for next year!  I don't know about ya'll but my kiddos were ALWAYS changing how they would go home!  This is great!  No more re-making the bus list/car list everytime one changes their mode of transportation or you get a new student!!!

The Pinterest link was to Tattling To The Teacher's blog but it did not link directly so I never could find it on her blog!  So....I made my own in the colors I will be using in my room!

I also was inspired by the Clutter Free Classroom's blog post about numbering your students!  I made some dots to use for this purpose in my classroom colors as well!
