Two For Tuesday

Today I am linking up with The Teaching Tribune for their Two for Tuesday Linky!

Today we feature two popular products in our TPT STORE for HALF PRICE!
This is what we are offering to all of you terrific teachers today!

These Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Letter Cards were such fun last year!  I used them at the beginning of the year as one of my rotations to introduce literacy center time.  There are several ways to use them.  1.) Identifying letters  2.) Identifying letter sounds 3.) Use the picture cards to identify letters of letter sounds

Name Games for the SMARTboard is one of our most popular SMARTboard files.  This is super fun for the beginning of the year and developing that classroom community while teaching beginning of the year skills like letter recognition, sounds, and phonemic awareness.

Make sure you link up with The Teaching Tribune to see what everyone else is offering for half price today!

Sweet Summer Time

WOW! To say this little ol' blog has been neglected is an understatement!  I had one of the busiest school years ever!  I had a senior! In high school!!!  He graduated and is on to the next amazing chapter of his life!  It is certainly bitter sweet!  I am honestly so excited for him!  I know God is going to do great things in this sweet boys life!
My pinterest copy! So cute!

Grad Selfie!

My sweet boy! I am so excited for him!

To say being the parent of a senior is busy....well that is also an understatement!  Holy Guacamole!  He is a cross country/track runner and this year we had meets, recruiting visits, official college visits, ACT tests, college applications, FAFSA paperwork....and on, and on, and on!  Then scholarship banquets, athletic banquets, graduation parties, grad practice, and finally graduation! I am pleased to report that he will be attending Stephen F. Austin in the fall.  He will be a student athlete and run cross country/track for them as well which he is super excited about!  Have I mentioned I also had an 8th grader!
Watching his big brother graduate.

Brotherly support at his big game

Who happens to be a major dedicated baseball player....and plays on an elite tournament team....in a different town!!!  I live in my car!  In College Station!  LOL!  Soooo anyway I pledge to do better with this blog! I really love blogging and reading blogs.  I have missed it.  But whenever I had any free time this year it was spent doing the necessary things needed for my kindergarten class.  This summer I have some fun things planned for the blog!  I am linking up with some awesome ladies and working on some TPT freebies that will be featured!
So stay tuned and enjoy your summer!

Firefighters!

My student teacher continued our Community Helper unit with firefighters.
Our schema chart was interesting.  One student commented that firefighters "saved cats from trees."

One of morning charts-
Our bulletin board display with some writing-

Finally, a visit from a firefighter (my student teacher's dad!).  We labeled the equipment and the students told him what to put on.

Officer Buckle and Gloria

LOVE this book!  Our unit of study for the next week is community helpers...actually I have a student teacher and it's her unit:)  One quick little activity was brainstorming tips in keeping safe (didn't get a photo of the chart) then, the class was separated into groups and they illustrated and wrote about their favorite safety tip.  We use bulletin board paper and the kids love it because they can "write big and draw big".

Our 100th Day Celebration

Back from SDE in San Marcus...I have lots of ideas rolling around in my head!  So, my class celebrated the 100th day of school a day late.  Our tradition is to pop 100 balloons.  Thanks to my husband and an air compressor, he had gotten this done by the time I got home from SDE :)
Each balloon has a number inside.  The kids must stay on their knees and sit on the balloons.  They collect their numbers in bags.  Then, we assemble a 100 chart with those numbers.
