My year in reverse continues...100th day.

Making the 100th day hats.

Collecting 100 numbers.
Putting 100 numbers on the chart.
Making 100th day ice cream cones.
Our 100th day snack.

I continuing my year in reverse!  I love to look back at all the fun things we did.  These photos are from the month of February...our 100th day celebration.  I have made these 100th day hats for years.  We have some wonderful volunteers that cut the construction paper strips then, glue 10 construction paper strips to a sentence strip.  The kids use dot markers and put 10 dots on each construction paper strip. Next, we had a number hunt.  In the past, I have put the paper number in a balloon.  The kids would crawl on their knees and sit on the balloon to pop it and get the number that was inside.  However, this year I had air compressor issues...so I scattered the numbers throughout my room. I assigned the numbers to hunt.  For example, numbers that have a 2 in the tens place.  Or, numbers that have the same number in the ones and tens place (like 55).  Then, we place all the numbers on a chart (no photo).  Our paper ice cream cones were from fabulous Cara Carroll, I think.  The kids chose 10 scoops and glued them on top of their cones.  Then, they wrote by tens on each scoop.  Finally, of course, we have to eat!  They counted out ten of each of the ten different items and put them in their baggie.  This activity has been done a zillion times, but the kids still love it!

Our 100th Day Celebration

Back from SDE in San Marcus...I have lots of ideas rolling around in my head!  So, my class celebrated the 100th day of school a day late.  Our tradition is to pop 100 balloons.  Thanks to my husband and an air compressor, he had gotten this done by the time I got home from SDE :)
Each balloon has a number inside.  The kids must stay on their knees and sit on the balloons.  They collect their numbers in bags.  Then, we assemble a 100 chart with those numbers.

Hip, Hip HOORAY! We've Been In Kindergarten 100 Days!

All I have to say is "WHEEEWWW!!!" OMG!  I feel like I have been RUN over by a Mac truck!  We have been busy non-stop today!  We did not get it all done!  We did everything but our calendar notebooks!  My day was a TRUE Monday!  It started off with me searching for something for my 15 yr old!  Good grief!  So I was running late!  Then after I arrived at school I realized my camera was DEAD!  Yikes!  Usually I have my battery charger at school anyways but I had taken it home over Christmas break!!!!  So.....my sweet husband ran his work digital camera over for me to use!  It is a DINOSAUR!  LOL!  The AA batteries died in the poor thing 3 times.....3!!!!!!!  So the last few pics I had to do with my iPhone!  I had duty this AM!!!!! And PM!!!!  Really?!?  I'm tired!!  Here are some pics of our fun day!!!

They came in and immediately got down to business!  They laid out 100 fruit loops on their hundreds chart!  When they had it completely covered...I brought them string and they began stringing them on!  As they finished I tied them on as necklaces and they began work on their 100 day hats!
They had to stamp 10 dots on each strip!

Too cute!  They loved them!
This is what they found when they came back from music!
That Zero the Hero!  He is something else! :)

I gave them a ziploc bag to put the numbers in that came out of their balloon!  They were to
pop their balloon (by sitting on it) grab their number, put it in their bag, and then they
could move on to the next balloon!

Sooooo much fun!

Then....we got to work on putting our numbers in order on the 100's chart!

We TRULY are 100 days smarter!
Happy 100 days of school!  I hope your 100th day celebration
was or will be just as fun!!!!
